In a word, or three, what first comes to mind is positive. I can’t remember there ever really being a time where I didn’t see Clara happy and laughing and looking for the good in a situation. I also think of perseverance because Clara wouldn’t accept not being able to do something. She would work until she accomplished her goal whether it was running or serving a shuttle or whatever and she would do it with a smile. Lastly brave and read on to see my reason.
A specific event. Well coming out for sports when she knew that it wouldn’t come easy but joining in anyway. Raising money for a charity. But my favorite would have to be seeing her on stage giving her speech. Maybe she didn’t think that was particularly brave but for me it said volumes about rising up to meet a challenge and not letting an obstacle stop you from doing what you set out to do.
So how has she inspired me. Well I’m a guy and self analysis is not a strong point but I would have to say that Clara, and this may sound corny but she shows that life really is what you make of it. She could have coined the phrase “if life gives you lemons make lemonade” and she showed me that every day.
